Golden Standards: Materials & Quality
What is demi-fine jewelry?
Demi-fine jewelry sits between costume and fine jewelry. It offers the look and feel of solid gold at a fraction of the cost. Our pieces are designed to be more durable than fashion jewelry, but more accessible than pure gold. And the best part is that with proper care, they’ll maintain their beauty for years.
What materials do you use?
We use a mix of gold-plated sterling silver or brass, gold-filled sterling silver, and pure sterling silver. Our dainty chains are typically gold-filled, and we can upgrade plated paperclip chains to gold-filled upon request. (Custom chain upgrades may take longer to ship.)
Gold-filled vs. gold-plated - what’s the difference?
- Gold-filled jewelry has a thick, bonded layer of gold (at least 5% of the item’s weight), making it more durable and long-lasting.
- Gold-plated jewelry has a thin layer of gold applied over a base metal. It’s more affordable but may show wear more quickly.

How should I care for my jewelry?
Treat your jewelry like you would a fresh blowout on a beach day - fun in the sun, but best kept dry. To keep pieces looking their best, avoid swimming, showering, heavy sweating, and direct contact with perfume and lotions. Remove before exercising or sleeping, and store in a soft pouch when not in use.
How should I clean it?
Use warm water with mild dish soap and dry thoroughly. A soft jewelry cloth helps maintain shine. Sterling silver can be polished with silver-safe cleaner.
Is it waterproof?
Not quite. Daily wear is fine, but regular exposure to water, sweat, or chemicals will shorten the life of your pieces. Gold-filled jewelry is more forgiving, while gold-plated pieces may show wear sooner. How long they last depends on how you wear them.
What if it breaks?
Good news! Our jewelry is made to last, even if you’re not perfect about care. Gold-filled pieces are hypoallergenic and gentle on skin. If you ever have an issue, reach out and we’ll do our best to help.

Can you help me design a custom piece?
Yes, please! This is one of our favorite things to do. Whether you want to create something special in-studio, virtually, or during a private appointment, we’d love to collaborate.
How long do custom orders take?
Most ship within 1–2 weeks. Need it sooner? Reach out and we’ll do our best.
Do you make custom wedding or group orders?
Absolutely. We’ve created bridal collections, bridesmaid gifts, bachelorette party favors, yoga retreat keepsakes, teacher team jewelry, and so much more. Let’s design something meaningful together.
Do you do community or corporate orders?
Yes - we regularly design custom pieces for nonprofits, schools, and businesses. Whether it’s your brand colors or a signature charm, we can create something unique at scale. Let’s talk about your project. You can contact us here.
Do you offer kids’ jewelry?
Yes! We carry children’s necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in our studio. The collection isn’t online yet, but stay tuned (and ask us if you’re ready to shop now).

Eastwood Terrace is a local, woman-owned, community-based business. We’re proud to support causes close to our hearts whenever possible. While our resources are limited as a growing brand, we’ve partnered with several local and national organizations to create a meaningful impact.

Tips on Determining Sizes
Necklaces & Bracelets: Measure a favorite piece you already own, or use string to find your perfect length, then measure that length.
Rings: Most of our rings are slightly adjustable and typically fit US rings sizes 6–9.
Shop In Our Studio & Beyond
Can I shop in person?
Yes! Visit our Norfolk, VA studio on Colley Avenue in Ghent. We’re open Fridays 12–4, and typically another day or 2 a week - additional hours announced on Instagram. We also host quarterly open houses at the studio. Appointments are always available. Get yourself in here…we can’t wait to meet you!

Do you offer wholesale?
Yes, we absolutely do. Email contact@eastwoodterraceco.com or use our contact form for wholesale inquiries.
Returns
We accept returns for store credit within 7 days of purchase. Custom, sale, special event and donation items are final sale.
Shipping & Pick-up
Do you offer shipping?
Yes, and even better, our shipping is free on all orders $100+.
Can I pick up at the studio?
Yes - choose “Studio Pick Up” at checkout and coordinate with Sarah before stopping by to eliminate the shipping charge.
How fast will my order ship?
Most ready-made pieces ship in 1–2 business days. Custom orders typically take 1–2 weeks. Shipping times do vary around holidays so keep that in mind so you can plan ahead!
